2 skeins of Bonita Yarns Dream Swirl (Sport weight, #2, 50% cotton, 50% acrylic)

Crochet hook size G/4.00 mm hook - Hook size is intentionally bigger than suggested for yarn weight to create extra drape.

Yarn needle for weaving in your ends

Gauge: 

With size G (4.00 mm) crochet hook in pattern: 10 sts and 6 rows = 2" x 2”

Row 1: Ch 16, dc in 4th ch from hook (ch 3 count as dc),

Back Post Double Crochet Two Together (BPdc2tog) – * Yo, insert hook from the back to the front around post of next st; yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through two loops on hook, rep from * once more, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook. – 2 bpdc decreased into 1 bpdc.

Pattern Notes:          

  1. The beauty of knitted cable leaves has been “translated” to crochet in this Embossed Leaves Reversible Shawl. The shawl has two distinctive looks where on one side the design features offset textured leaves textured leaves and the other shows a knit-look relief pattern.
  2. The shawl is worked from the top down and increases at row ends and stitches near center line. Shawl is divided by a center “spine” or middle stitches’ where first section crocheted before spine is repeated or mirrored after spine.

Blocking:

Block shawl by soaking it in cool water until thoroughly wet. Squeeze out excess water gently and pinning it on a flat surface. Make sure to pull and pin the waves at the edging to make it really defined as seen in picture below. Remove it only when completely dry.
